A Day Dedicated To Giving Back.
On the final day of the Fueling Good Road Trip to welcoming North Carolina, we drive the pastoral country roads of the Piedmont region to Kopper Top Life Learning Center in Liberty. The staff and volunteers of the Kopper Top working farm provide therapeutic horseback riding, recreational therapy, animal-assisted therapy, and horticulture therapy to individuals with and without disabilities.Kopper Top is a former 501(c)(3) CITGO Fueling Good winner, and from the $5000 in CITGO Gift Cards is able to transport some of their animals to home and healthcare facilities and further its mission by reaching out to individuals who are not able to make the trip to the farm.Adam and Diego made friends with dozens of animals, and felt firsthand how such a connection can enhance the quality of life of those stressed with hardships or disabilities. We even joined some of the farm’s participants horseback riding. Be sure to check out the video, which is coming soon. Giddy up Fueling Good.It was difficult to leave our new furry friends and all the inspiring folks at Kopper Top, yet the Road Trip then had the opportunity to go to Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina. Adam & Diego donated some produce and canned goods to help do our part to feed the needy in the Charlotte area. Good fuel for people--works for us.We then set the Fueling Good van GPS for our next Fueling Good destination, and headed north. Along the way recounting all the wonderful people we met in North Carolina, and all the impressive ways in which individuals and organizations of this great state come together and Fuel Good in their communities. There are so many Good stories, the Fueling Good Road Trip is sure to come back.Catch up with all the posts on our social channels, and look for fantastic videos from our time in North Carolina soon. We’ll hit you up in a few from New Hampshire, home of The Old Man in the Mountain. Can’t wait to meet that dude!
